I have been a volunteer for Albery Dog rescue Bedfordshire for 8 Years now and raising funds has become increasingly difficult especially for the beautiful dogs that get overlooked and end up with us for months on end. It's always the older ones or the Staffy type breeds that get overlooked. Lilly is a beautiful 11 year old Staffy who is deaf. She was living with an older gentleman and her friend a Staffy X named Rio. They were both much loved however their dad became ill with emphysema and could not look after his beloved friends properly so they came into rescue. Rio was homed fairly quickly as he was slightly younger rather handsome and wasn't deaf. Lilly was homed a little while later but unbelievably that guardian also became ill. Poor Lilly has now been with us for some months and is being fostered at Denford Edge Kennels Thrapston were she is much loved by all the staff. Unfortunately Lilly has had to have an operation to remove skin tags that contained growths and a biopsy was taken luckily the growths were benign but the operation has cost the rescue £480 it should have been more however due the kindness of Natalie the vet at Oundle Vets Northants they shaved a huge £180 off of the bill so many many thanks to her. Lilly is recovering well and being nursed back to health by the staff at Denford Edge.

I am hoping to raise the full amount to cover Lilly's operation fee as the cost of keeping a dog in rescue is £5 per dog per day so as you can imagine every pound is precious, please help me to help Albery Dog Rescue continue their wonderful work because if we can raise this it means that at least this fee won't come out of their hard earned donations. All funds raised here are being paid directly into Alberys own rescue account.
