We are raising money in order to purchase a defibrillator to keep on site. Having a defibrillator readily available on site would increase survival rates of an individual experiencing cardiac arrest, as the time of retrieving a nearby defibrillator would be greatly reduced! This would be available to use if there was ever a medical emergency involving children, staff or parents. We have staff on site who are all trained in CPR and emergency first aid.

If a defibrillator is used within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival rates jump from 6% to 74%. Each year in the UK: 12 people under the age of 35 die each week from sudden cardiac arrest and 270 children die from sudden cardiac arrest suffered on school premises. These worrying statistics indicate the importance of having quick access to a defibrillator to increase survival rates in the case of an on site emergency.
