Weʼre raising £9,997 to help keep the Minidonks on the road providing wellbeing visits for people with dementia, disabilities or struggling with their mental health

Story

We are a small social enterprise that makes a big impact. We take our Miniature Donkeys to visit people with life limiting conditions, special needs and mental health challenges. Every year we deliver hundreds of visits across Norfolk and Suffolk to settings such as care homes, psychiatric units, special schools and dementia settings.

The joy that our little donkeys bring is worth more than words can say. One nurse at a care home said, "I have never heard that lady laugh, and she has been smiling and laughing with your donkeys for 5 minutes now.

We rekindle memories, stimulate touch and forge friendships on every visit. We are not yet fully financially sustainable and our costs outstrip our income by between £10,000 and £15,000 every year. Any donations will go directly to keeping our Social Enterprise operational, and help us to continue to to deliver, "Donkey visits that mean so much to our residents. Every time we ask them what activities they would like they always say that they want the Minidonks back again."

Just 2 days to go before our biggest supporter goes the extra mile and plays piano , non-stop for 12 hours. We will be at The Assembly House in Norwich, from 8.30am - 8.30 pm on Sunday 8th October, with the Minidonk shop. The donks will be there too from 11am-3pm. If you can't be with us in person, you can donate, just put the word PIANO in the comments box and we will know you are supporting our friend Ian. Thank you xxx

We would like to thank all our donors who have supported Minidonks over the past year. 154 people donated an amazing £5,117. Every penny goes towards keeping our Social Enterprise running, taking our brilliant herd of Minidonks out and about, visiting care homes, community groups, dementia clubs, psychiatric hospitals and special schools. Thank you for your support and welcome to our renewed fundraising page. Your donations have made things like this happen... "Walking little Millie on my birthday - this really is a dream come true."
