    Story

My name is Norman, I am 84 years old and married, after several operations I am now fully disabled and my wife sadly has the misfortune to suffer from dementia.

All my life I have had pets the latest you see above and in all those years I have loved and cared for my pets in sickness and in health and somehow words cannot express the love happiness and joy and pleasure they have given and brought into my home, it wouldn’t have been home without them. Sadly now when they need me the most I am in danger of failing in providing that care they now most need as three of them need specialist care however this story is not about me nor my wife so if you want to read about them please see the Story.

    The Story

I need to tell you about what my four lovely pets have had to endure in the last few years. and these are my two cats Misty and Pippa and my two cavalier dogs Bella and Ruby and the misfortunes that has fallen upon them during their routine visits for checkups at the local veterinary practice.

Misty the oldest at sixteen was diagnosed two years ago as having a non malignant brain tumour and then six months later diagnosed as having an acute bowel disorder and a kidney deficiency she used to have seizures caused by the pressure of the brain tumour and the bowel disorder results in blockages, she now requires being administered medication twice daily and is on a special diet for her kidney problem, thankfully both the medication and diet now takes care of these ailments and she rarely has a seizure.

Pippa the mischievous one who is fifteen was diagnosed as having a blood disorder which accounted for her lack of playfulness plus she also has the same kidney problem as Misty which again requires being administered medication twice daily and also being put on a special diet.

Now if that wasn’t enough 6 months ago:

Bella a beautiful 7 year old Cavalier was diagnosed as having a condition called Hydrocephalus also known as water on the brain, or excess cerebrospinal fluid collecting between the brain & skull, which causes extreme pressure on the brain which if not treated could be fatal, she is now has to have administered daily medication.

A month ago at their latest checkup at the vets all three above were diagnosed as have heart problems which I am told could lead to heart attacks if not treated now all three receive that extra medication.

Ruby our other beautiful Cavalier is thankfully the only one to have no problems.

It has began to feel as if the whole world was collapsing around us and that somehow god had forsaken us as the care, medication and vet bills began to escalate and as of now they stand at approximately £500 per month or £6000 per year for which I have managed to pay over the last eighteen months.

However the good thing for which I’m most grateful and thankful for is that with the care and medication all three Misty, Pippa and Bella are living their lives as normal and happy as could be wished for.

Without this treatment two of them Misty and Bella would most certainly die a painful death and so whilst ever I can continue to pay for their treatment and medication I cannot and will never let this happen, but I have to tell you that my small savings are rapidly depleting and within the next few months my savings will run out completely so I will put aside my pride and ask you to first please forgive me for begging but they now need your help to make sure they can continue to receive that care they need to relieve their suffering so if you can at all feel it in your hearts to help them by making a donation of any amount and however small then I do humbly ask you to make that donation.

    Thank you.

My pets are more than just pets they are family members and I would hate it if I wasn't able to afford their health care and lose any of them sooner.
