Story
A team of staff at Monkfield Medical Practice are helping to raise money for equipment that will benefit the Community.
Led by Dr Cowee, a Partner at the Practice, her, staff members and their families will be entering a number of 3K, 5K and 10K races over the next 12 months. Patients are welcome to join the practice too!
The Practice aim is to raise money to purchase a Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) to be located on the external wall of the Library/Health Centre building, accessible to the community in the event of an emergency. A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest that anyone can use.
The Practice is hopeful that with your support and generosity if there is any additional funding that it can start to save to purchase of Blood Pressure monitoring machine for the waiting area within the Practice.
This will support patients to take an interest in their health, save time and help identify problems to be addressed.

I was once told that, for each minute after a cardiac arrest you lose 10% of your chance of survival until you are attached to a defibrillator. You are helping to save lives. Thank you.

Great idea - would you believe, I myself had wondered about doing something similar! My wife has some minor heart problems, and it could be a life-saver for her...
