In this year alone, eight live music venues have closed down in Plymouth.
The local music scene is fighting for survival in one of the most up-and-coming cities in the UK, as our platform for the creative arts and culture withers up and fades into history.

We are developing a mobile app which will act as a social media music and events platform. As an online music player, we provide the chance for local musicians to upload their music, which the Modest Owl app then recommends them to people based on their taste and interests in music. This is a subtle way to direct people to listen to local music in their area and provide promotion to local bands, artists, and DJs.

Integrated into this is a feature which provides people with an informative and comprehensive events guide by linking in all local live music venues, nightclubs, and pubs. People will be able to select their location, and every venues within their desire distance will pop up showing them exactly what is going on, providing information on lines-up, the bands/artists/DJs playing, discounts, special, promotions, tickets/entry prices, as well as general information on the venue.

People will no longer have to research or guess what is going on in their City, nor will they have to dig or accidentally stumble upon a local band or good music around them. Our app recommends and connects them to everything in town.

We need funding to finish the development of our Modest Owl app, anything we make is plugged directly into development, research, and into the Plymouth music scene as we promote venues and bands, rebuilding and providing the opportunity for our music industry to launch into the technological and digital age.
