My Dad is doing The Prudential Ride London on 30th July 2017 - a 100 mile ride to help me raise money for a volunteering trip to Mombassa , Kenya. At the end of July I will be going to Mombassa for 3 weeks to help with this charity project. The project aims to help children who live on the streets of Mombassa by giving them a place to stay, food to eat and most importantly an education.

I have been fundraising separately which has included, cake stalls, Car cleaning and organising an evening event with live music and stalls to raise funds to donate to the project resources.

This education is vital to ensure that these vulnerable children do not end up back on the streets and subjected to a life of abuse and addiction. The project aims to get these children into a normal education in Mombassa once they have succeeded at the centre and with these basic skills these children can go on to become labourours and earn a living for themselves.

The volunteer work that will be done will be a range of teaching activities as well as life skills such as cooking and also general maintenance activities alongside giving the children much needed attention and emotional support.
