Hello,

When i moved to Plaistow in East London I had the opportunity to meet a amazing and inspiring woman who runs Lolas homeless, by herself, with no goverment funding.

Since we met, i've been helping to gather much needed items and help with start ups for the homeless that do eventually get a flat.

Being my birthday i have asked all my friends to buy a much needed item instead of birthday gifts and the money i earn on my shift as i am working on my birthday will all go to lolas. It is also the summer event for lolas homeless - which is a big event where hairdressers, nurses and everyone who can help comes along to spend time with the homeless and give them well deserved haircuts, health checks and even massages, we give out invites to all homeless. They also have dinner, a chat, and we give away items.

Its a cold, lonely place outside, and dangerous and we can all become homeless at anytime.

I wasn't raised well off but i was always lucky to have a roof over my head and now i'm older I feel its time to give back.

I will be attending the summer event before i start my shift and was hoping that my friends would help put smiles on people that have nothing, or have lost everything.

£25 pays for one homeless to get a new sleeping bag to stay warm, a backpack to carry their stuff and some wash items.

At the winter event i know that more than 100 people were helped, a lot of the girls did amazing fundraisers, cooked lovely dinners in abundance which were also given out as takeaway for the next day.

Rough costs of items we are looking to get
£9 per sleeping bag (50 in total would be amazing as this is essential when your outside)
£13 for heavy duty large backpacks
£4 pays for much needed toiletries

Any donation small or big will be amazing. The more money we can get together the more we can buy for the event, everyone deserves something new!.
