The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

In 2017, over 30 local national and international authors travelled from across the globe to join us at Morecambe Winters Gardens for 'Morecambe & Vice' - Morecambe's first crime-writing festival! We had author talks, panels, discussions, murder mysteries, signings, bookshop events, writing masterclasses and so much more!

The feedback we got was clear : people wanted more! So we've put our heads together, and we've got some ideas for how to make Morecambe & Vice even better than last year!

But, we need some help. In 2017 we were totally self-funded and look what we managed to do! Our biggest expense was the hire of the exquisite Winter Gardens for the weekend and (despite the chill!) we'd love to host the 2018 festival there too!

So, we're asking for all the people who enjoyed this year's festival (plus those who are interested in coming next year!) to help us out with the hire of the Winter Gardens for our 2018 festival!

Here are just some of the Morecambe & Vice 2018 authors and guests we have in store:

-- Best Selling and Award Winning Author Peter Robinson

-- Playwright Daragh Carville discusses his new Morecambe based ITV Drama ‘The Bay’

-- Actor turned author Hugh Fraser, best known for his portrayal of Hastings in ITV’s Poirot (and Episode of which was filmed at The Midland, Morecambe) joins Robert Daws and Martyn Waites for a discussion on actors turned authors.

-- Elly Griffiths leads a discussion with authors who work in other genres as well as Crime fiction featuring Frances Brody and James Swallow.

-- Paul Burston the curator of the award winning polari literary salon discusses LGBT themes in Crime fiction with Mari Hannah and a host of other authors.

-- Bryan Talbot leads a panel of experts on Crime Fiction in the world of Graphic Novels.

-- There are also 2 interactive murder mystery events taking place over the weekend : The Carry On Casualty Crime at The Midland Hotel & The Golden Age Detective Dilemma at Morecambe Library !

Some of the fantastic reviews we got from Morecambe & Vice :

...I urge all readers to come to this next year as I for one, can't wait! Thankyou!

Friendly, well organised event, and what a perfect atmospheric and quirky venue to hold it in!

The organisation, choice of venue, programming and variety of panels was as good as I have ever seen. Well done to all and see you again next year!

Any donation you can give will be greatly appreciated and all the proceeds will go towards making Morecambe & Vice even better than 2017!
