Story
The Little Sisters of the Poor is a charity committed to supporting the needs of vulnerable older people of modest means, by providing a caring home with safe accommodation, respite provision, and palliative end of life care.
We have chosen to fundraise on behalf of Mount St Joseph’s Care Home, as due to the emergency lockdown measures to aid efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, they are finding the current economic climate increasingly more demanding.
Sister Christina has kindly agreed to offer her services for this hair raising challenge.
Counting all online and in-person donations, if we reach:
£50 - Julia, the staff trainer, will have her hair dyed green for St. Patrick's day.
£100 - Kath, the activities coordinator, is going to have pink hair.
£150 - Jean, one of the residents and events coordinator, will be going for purple.
£200 - Greg, our Lead Nurse, has been volunteered by The Residents, Staff and Sisters to have Rainbow coloured hair by Friday 9th April.
£250 - Mark, the chef manager, is going for the only colour matching his cooking talents - GOLD.
£300 - Anne, one of the receptionists, will be going for blue and yellow to support Leeds United against Liverpool on 17th April.
£350 - Megan, one of the many brilliant volunteers, has finally found a way of getting around her mum to let her dye her hair. She has opted for purple.
£400 - Teresa, also part of the reception team, has kindly let herself be talked into going pink... to make the boys eye's wink.
£450 - Kathleen, finance officer, is really looking forward to her pink and purple stripes.
£500 - Steve, maintenance team leader, is having some red to go with his white hair in time for St George's Day.
£550 - Suzanne, the residents' administrator, is aiming for a touch of turquoise, in time for a big birthday in May.
£600 - Sue, one of the Care Team Leaders, is planning on going purple.
£2000 - Sue, one of the Care Assistants, has just been informed that she is having green.
All donations, no matter what size, will be very gratefully received and will make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable elderly residents. With our crucial support in these unprecedented times, we can help safeguard Mount St Joseph’s care home to ensure they continue to provide safe, affordable, quality care and assistance to older people in need – not just now but for future generations. THANK YOU.
