This event was born when local businessman Mike Turner went into Derriford Hospital for an almost routine appendectomy that due to serious complications, lead him to being in an induced coma for 4 days with lasting effects that have ensued a long road to recovery.

Over the past 3 years since moving to Plymouth, Mike has worked tirelessly to help the local Plymouth Community and economy and has raised thousands for local charities, so much so, that he himself hadn’t prepared for a rainy day and for such an impact on his life.

Now he needs our help to enable him to sustain him and his family and aid him a speedy recovery to enable him to get back to the community he so diligently serves.

Mike feels indebted to Derriford Hospital for the high level of care he received during his treatment there and has expressed that he would like give back for what he received.

Therefore, half the money raised will go to the Plymouth Derriford Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) who give life to early prenatal and poorly babies.
