Weʼve raised £200 to for war veteran viciously attacked in his own home

Funded on Thursday, 4th January 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Hello please take time to read this.

A 96 year old man was approached in his own home by what appears to be a salesman, after refusing needing any work the gentleman is then attacked with a claw hammer in a vicious unprovoked attack leaving him with serious head injuries and requiring hospitalisation. Mr Booth a father of 4 is thought to be a victim of whats know as distraction burglary

Horrific I hear you say how had this happened? what would possess someone to do something so horrific? but yes these sad things do happen so why a fundraising page? As I was reading the horrific news report it was then that I discovered this 96 year old gentleman is a D-day 2nd world war veteran hero. Mr Booth is the only survivor of a crack ten-man team who spent five days half a mile underwater in two mini subs X-20 and X-23 before the D-Day invasion of 1944 fighting and putting his own life at risk in order to give each and every one of us the lives we have today.

Mr. Booth was awarded the Croix de Guerre French military medal and was part of the Combined Operations Pilotage and Reconnaissance Parties honoured with a granite memorial donated by Prince Charles on Hayling Island, Hampshire.

If you as i did feel absolutely sickened and infruriated and every emotion in between then I please ask that you dig deep and make a donation. The money will go to help Mr Booth when he returns from hospital and will be given to the family to do as the see fit regarding what he requires. Should they wish to offer up the money as a reward to catch the thug that inflicted such horrific injuries then this will only aid to get this person off our streets sooner However since creating this the suspected perpetrator has been arrested

On a final note I ask that you please remember the sacrifices each and every person goes through in fighting any of the horrific wars past and present and ask that this war veteran is shown how very very grateful we all are for everything he did whilst in service.
