    Story

    Narrated by: Abu Huraira

Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said: “Spend O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.' "

This is my second visit to Bangladesh Insha-Allah my departure is 12/03/2018. My first visit to Rohingya refugee camps was in November 2017. It was very humbling and rewarding experience. I remember very first day when I visited the camps it was overwhelming and very emotional experience for me. The situation and conditions these refugees have faced are unimaginable for us. I have seen and meet people suffered heinous atrocities just because they Muslims or belong to certain ethnic group. There are over 1 million refugees and almost half of them are children with no parents.

We all know about the humanitarian crisis in Myanmar (Burma). Rohingya lived in Burma for centuries. Burmese government refuse to recognise Rohingya as its citizens, they even excluded them from 2014 census refusing to recognise them as people. Rohingya are forced to live in hard to reach parts of jungles, with no roads, no hospitals, and no infrastructure. Rohingya are persecuted by the army and local population because of their ethnic and religious background.

The persecution has reached to the level that, The United Nations described the military offensive in Rakhine (area where Rohingya live) as a “textbook example of ethnic cleansing”. Amnesty International says the Myanmar military has killed hundreds of Rohingya and raped and abused Rohingya women and girls. The United Nations human rights chief has said an act of genocide against Rohingya Muslims by state forces in Myanmar cannot be ruled out.

When I visited refugee camps in November 2017, I distributed your donation on the following:

    • 5 day medical camp, attended by full time doctor a nurse and all necessary medication was given free. From this medical camp if an individual is diagnosed with serious illness, bullet or burn wounds, outside specialist hospital costs were paid.

    • 600 food parcels were distributed to refugee families. This food parcel contained all essentials items to sustain a family for 15 days.

    • 500 blankets

    • 500 mosquito nets

    • 2 deep water wells. This is very essential as costal area water is contaminated with sea water. Deep water bore is very deep ensuring clean drinking water.

    • 2000 hot food packs.

    Narrated by: Ibn Abbas

That the mother of Sad-bin Ubayda the brother of Bani Saida died in Sad's absence, so he came to the Prophet (SAW) saying, "O Allah's Apostle (SAW)! My mother died in my absence; will it benefit her if I give in charity on her behalf?" The Prophet (SAW) said, "Yes." Sad said, "I take you as my witness that I give my garden Al-Mikhraf in charity on her behalf."

Found In: Sahih Bukhari Chapter No: 53, Wills and Testaments (Wasaya) Hadith no: 26, Relevance: 4.4078.

I do not work for any charity or have political affiliation. When I meet refugees I give them message of hope from us all that we are with you in this difficult time. I supported my travel and accommodation entirely myself for the first time and Insa-Allah this time I will pay for travel & stay myself. My family and friends are fund raising for me. My focus of funding will be vulnerable women with children. . I am humbly requesting you all please donate for this cause; I will make sure your donations will reach the neediest.
