Story
We have an exciting and ambitious goal: to raise £5,000 to fund our Music in Healthcare project at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital (PEH) in Guernsey for 2025. Your support will directly impact the lives of patients, healthcare professionals, and the wider community by bringing the transformative power of music into our local healthcare settings.
In September, three dedicated members of the SOPM team had the privilege of training as Healthcare Musicians on Island with Nick Cutts from OPUS Music, UK. Over the course of an intensive week of training, we visited several wards at PEH—including children’s, neonatal, and rehabilitation—and introduced live music and music making to patients and staff. The immediate and profound impact we witnessed was nothing short of inspiring.
Here is some of the incredible feedback we received:
“Please thank the Musical Team for a magical moment that was so uplifting and calming. They were just brilliant, and it meant so much to us as a family to have that short time that created an escape. Many, many thanks.”
The Music in Healthcare program has a far-reaching impact, benefiting patients of all ages—from infants and children to adults, as well as healthcare staff. Music provides a comforting, calming presence in a healthcare setting, fostering a positive and healing environment for everyone involved.
We now need your help to provide this program, ensuring that we can deliver weekly music sessions at PEH throughout 2025. With your generous contribution, we can bring the healing power of music to patients and healthcare workers in Guernsey.
We are deeply grateful to the Guernsey community for your support in making this vision a reality.
