    Story

Sadie suffered from a number of allergies and asthma, which meant that she and her family had to be extremely careful, avoiding certain foods and pollen.

It was difficult when she was little and she spent a lot of time in hospital. Sadly, on 20th August 2018, Sadie suffered an extreme allergic reaction and tragically died. She was 9 years old.

Sadie was a keen tennis player and skier. She was the UK Number 1 tennis player at 9u.

Although I never had the privilege to meet Sadie, I have become good friends with her mum Clare. Through the work of the foundation set up in Sadie's memory, she works tirelessly to improve allergy services in our area and her husband Stewart runs tennis activities in school to keep Sadie's legacy alive.

My own children suffer from food allergies and intolerances and I'm passionate about making things better for allergy sufferers. I am a food allergy writer at my website www.myallergykitchen.com and it's a year since I released my book, The Busy Parent's Guide to Food Allergies. Together Clare and I run a support group for families affected by food allergies.

To support The Sadie Bristow Foundation I am recording a video Q&A session. Make a donation (min. £10) and leave a question in the comment space. I will record a video that answers all the questions. This page will be updated with a link to the video and you will receive an email notification when this happens.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to support my fundraiser for the Sadie Bristow Foundation! There was only one question submitted, as I think some of you may have thought I was joining in with the half marathon that happened recently. I've answered the question in this video. Thanks again, Zoe x

I'm a food allergy blogger - I set up my blog to support other families with food allergies after my daughter was diagnosed with 6 food allergies as a baby. A year ago I released a book called 'The Busy Parent's Guide to Food Allergies' and this my way of giving something back.
