£40raised of £1,000 target by 3 supporters

Weʼre raising £1,000 to Create a sensory garden for our special needs daughter and a crisis/emergency fund.

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Myia Hope was born at 25 weeks of pregnancy weighing 1lb 6oz. My waters had broke at just 19 weeks & doctors insisted she could not survive & we should terminate the pregnancy. We refused & I put myself on complete bedrest at home to try & keep labour at bay for as long as possible. She held on for 6 weeks but then I got an infection & she arrived of her own accord with a breach birth. She was breathing in less than a minute, spent 5 weeks on life support, fought PDA, burst lung, brain bleed & several infections.
After a long battle & a total of 106 days in NICU she came home on oxygen!
She has chronic lung disease, nystagmus (eye condition) some eating and weight gain issues & global developmental delay but is doing amazingly well! She's now 2 & a half years old and has been off oxygen support since July last year! She has had various bouts of bronchilitis & uses a steroid preventative inhalor to help control respiritory problems as well as a salbutomol inhalor when she is struggling. She's being supported & monitored by all the different necessary medical departments and is slowly making progress.
We have decided to set up this page as an emergancy fund incase of any further admissions or serious problems. We are also hoping to buy more sensory items & thingz that may aid her development. We are considering turning her bedroom into a sensory room but that will need more looking into the possibilities.

Thankyou for all the fantastic support we've had through our premmie journey. 💞💞

We are pretty sure we want to make a sensory/educational area in the garden for Myia! I'm planning to use the alley that leads straight to our living room as we dont use it for anything else. We want to get mirror bubble things to put up on the wall & see what else is available. We also have stepping stones from the conservatory door to the back of the garden that I'm thinking of painting different colours with numbers on to help her learn as she loves the garden. I now have lots of idea's to help with her development & learning.

We are hoping to get Myia more sensory equipment/developmental aids but our main reason for this is as an emergancy/crisis fund. I do not want to run the risk of being in a situation the nhs cant help with & not being able to afford other options! BUT we do not want to "beg" or accidently mislead people. We dont have a major goal right now & this is a "back up plan" only. Any funds that are not needed will go to other children's causes & to SCUIB who are currently supporting over 50 poorly children!!
