Hi my name is nadine warden and me and my husband sean are expecting our third child Due 21st feb 2018. We have two boys, max aged 9 from a previous relationship and toby aged 3. im currently 33 weeks pregnant with our Baby.

We found out at 16 weeks through surprise gender reveal that we were having a baby girl!!! We could not believe it! We went out and excitedly brought pink for the first time And chose her name Molly. We couldnt believe our luck and all we had wished for had come true!

At our 20 week scan they done all the checks, they said everything was fine apart from a few measurements they couldnt get so we were asked to come back in two weeks for a rescan, the sonographer said it was due to molly moving around too much And her lying in a funny position. We were told it was nothing to worry about.

When we returned two weeks later for our next scan they told us they think molly had something wrong with her heart. Our world came crashing down around us. The little baby girl we had dreamed of had “something” wrong with her heart!! They said they could only see one side of her heart then told we were going to be referred to birmingham women’s hospital for a heart scan on the baby.

They couldnt see us for a week, so we waited them 7 gruelling days and i did nothing but cry and picture almost every possible outcome you could imagine.

Finally the day came and we went for the heart scan. They looked over the whole baby and then scanned her heart. we sat in silence as they talked in medical terms pointing at the screen we didnt have a clue what they were talking about. When they had finished they sent us in to a little room to wait for the doctors to come and tell us what they had found. Molly has tricuspid atresia (hypoplastic right heart syndrome) where the right side of her heart is under developed. We were given three options....1. interrupt (terminate) the pregnancy, 2. take her home and let her die, 3. or carry on with the pregnancy and when she was born she would need a number of surgeries. Imagine at 23 weeks pregnant with your dream little girl that you see and feel moving and kicking inside you then to be given them choices! We were distraught and just sat in tears.

We were sent home to make a decsion and to return for another appointment for another scan and to give our decision. We decided that we would carry on with the pregnancy and give her a chance at the life that she deserved.

when shes born she will need a number of heart surgeries and me and my husband long to be beside her bed in hospital but this is proveing difficult as my husband still needs to work, provide for our family and keep a roof over our heads. sean will need time off work to be with her and then travel expenses to and from the hospital daily Plus keeping day to day life as normal as possible for our two boys back home Being looked after by family.

we have set up this page to try and raise funds to help support us through this time and to allow mollys mummy and daddy to be with her while she goes through these life threatning operations.
