    Story

BADU SPORTS WILL BE HOLDING A COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER ON SATURDAY 30TH APRIL 2022!

The purpose of this day is to spread awareness about what our plans are for the Centre of Excellence and demonstrate the female leadership needed in the sports industry.

The event will run from 12:00-18:00pm. On the day we will have a series of taster sessions, tournaments, digital competition and a parents' walk. This is not an event to miss!

The women’s sport movement is a major force today in the U.K and internationally. With more support for women and girl’s activity to media channels exclusively showing women’s teams to Featuring female presenters and athletes- the world is moving in a more gender-equal direction in the sports industry. Here at Badu, we recognise this transformation and wish to use our position embedded in the community to be a leading part of this social change. Badu is an organisation that is founded on the knowledge that sports is a transformative tool that can empower individuals and communities to excel in study, work and thrive in life.

Our solution is to nurture and develop talent from underserved communities focused on women and girls’ involvement in sports. Across all areas from leadership, design, program delivery and use we have put women at the core. We know firsthand how crucial it is to see representation and role models from a young age to encourage a healthy relationship with sports and physical activities.

Our leadership team consists of young women who have consistently come up against barriers based on their gender when playing competitively and recreationally. Executing this program’s ambitions successfully will mean that hundreds and thousands of young people in East London and beyond will experience a sporting environment that centres female sports practitioners and teammates that are representative of them.
