As a family we have first hand experience of the horrid effects of Dementia in its varying forms, and how it not only hurts the person suffering, but all of the people around. Mary, our Nan first got Alzheimers, this lasted many years until she eventually passed away, this was a slow degenerative form and her loving husband Bert gently cared for her every step. The next blow was when Bert collapsed when he was on holiday; he had vascular dementia. This was a very sudden and aggressive form, one day he was ok, the next he was not the same man and continued to worsen and an unbelievable rate. It was heart breaking. Trying to care for him as a family was hard and heartbreakingly made the decision for him to go in a home as he required advanced care.

We will buy some things for future residents of the home to keep them entertained, raise money for their bench in Spain and to raise the awareness of dementia.
