My son was born on 29th December 2016, 14 weeks early weighing 1lb 3.5oz and was on the Neonatal Unit Unit at Derriford Hospital Plymouth for 8 days before being transferred to St. Micheals Hospital, Bristol for Major bowel surgery were he sadly grew his angel wings and passed away aged 9 days old.

I am wanting to raise money for the keep me close appeal in Romans memory and to help with the funds to build parental accommodation on the hospital site so parents whose baby is on the neonatal unit can stay together whilst their baby is unwell/critical.
Once this proposed building is a success it will free up beds within the maternity unit in the main hospital building (once maternally discharged) and allow both parents to stay together, onsite and oncall for the baby.
for most babies each second, minute, hour or day on the neonatal unit is critical and from personal experience I know how hard and emotional time it is wanting to stay with your baby 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
this proposed new building will take pressure off families without having the worry on their shoulders of if/when they are going to be discharged.
flats are provided on NICU for parents out of area, but these also are limited.
