Boknal is South Korea's version of the Yulin dog meat eating festival, where locals consume dog meat as they believe that it cools them down in the summer heat.

These dogs can be stolen or sold pets, street dogs or bred specifically to be eaten. Dogs are crammed into tiny cages, transported in hot and inhumane conditions and beaten, burned or boiled alive. They are then eaten over this festival.

I am going to fight against the dog meat trade this July in South Korea by publicly street campaigning against dog meat eating with Nami Kim from Save Korean Dogs, by catching newspaper and media attention. In between this, I will be providing basic veterinary care and assistance to those dogs that have been saved from this cruel trade.

I will be partially using these funds to not only pay for my transport to South Korea, but also to purchase basic animal care supplies such as mats, bandages, collars and veterinary consumables in order to provide basic care to these poor dogs, until they are well enough to be re-homed into loving families.

If anyone could spare anything at all towards this, I would be so grateful. This will be such a challenging experience but I just want the suffering to stop. As much as I try and help animals in many ways from home, I realise that sometimes you need to just go, get a flight and physically help!
