Weʼre raising £2,000 to help those in Uganda. I’ll be doing puberty and sex education talks to teens.

I am volenteering to go to Uganda for 10 days in October. During this time i will be giving talks on puberty to the teens out their. The charity supports 71,000 children and of those 10,500 are girls from 12-16. Like any young person their education is vital yet the girls miss 4-5 days every month due to their period as they are not fortunate enough to purchase sanitary wear. Furthermore a lot of these girls are sexually active, not by choice but rather determined by their life circumstances. This leaves them vulnerable to sexually transmitted diseases. I am going out to do sexul health talks, puberty , periods and personal hygiene talks to the teens in the area.
I am also taking out bras and underwear as they dont have enough money to purchase good quality ones or any so they dont partake in PE. If you have any spare unused bras please donate these too.

About the fundraiser
I am a specialist community public health nurse and work as a school nurse in Twickenham. I grew up in South Africa so have always had an affinity with the country and have always wanted to give back to those less fortunate. I can now do this again and can’t wait.
