This year we are celebrating 10 years of wonderful music making at North Birmingham Suzuki School. Despite the difficulties over the past 15 months, the children continued to play and have done a number of wonderful media projects which can be found on our youtube channel .

We are over the moon to have started playing together live again a couple of weeks ago and are now in the process of preparing for our long awaited anniversary celebrations in July 2021.

Following a preparation weekend filled with music of all genres, we will be celebrating on July the 24th with a lunchtime solo concert in which selected current and former pupils will share their music with us, followed by a large group concert in the evening featuring all current NBSS players who are joined by a large number of alumni. The programme will feature a selection of our favourite repertoire which we have performed over the past 10 years, and include a wide variety of genres: classical, film music, folk, dubstep, swing and much more.

We are working together with some wonderful colleagues from the music tech industry who will be professionally recording both concerts, allowing us to have high quality video recordings with several camera angles and close ups as well as top quality audio files of all pieces. This is a major undertaking, but especially after not having been able to play together and share our music for so long, we feel this special occasion is the right moment in time to create this keepsake and commemorate the milestone.

Since our Christmas concert in 2019, we have been unable to raise any funds due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, which put a stop to any live performances as well as other activities such as fundraiser concerts, going busking, or participating in other events which usually create revenue for the studio. Therefore, we are launching this campaign with the hope to be able to go ahead with our project as planned, and enable all participating players to receive this unique keepsake to remember this special moment in time.

Any donations, no matter how modest, will be received with huge gratitude. The event will be livestreamed so anyone who wishes to celebrate with us can do so from their little corner of the world.

We promise you a truly breath taking day of wonderful music.
