Story

I am part of the National Citizen Service (Notts County) as part of the Team Uno. We want to raise money and awareness for mental health so we have decided to support the Millbrook Mental Health Unit by doing a Sponsored 24 stay awake on the 14-15th of August. By doing this, we can raise money that will go towards vital equipment like gardening tools and equipment, instruments, furniture, sports equipments etc. In an effort to improve the lives of mental illness patients at the Mental Health Unit at Millbrook. So hopefully you will donate towards this wonderful cause; no donation is tol big or too small. Thank you,

I've completed the 24 hour stay awake. It was hard, it was difficult and it was most definitely a long night and yet completely worth it. It really highlighted how sleepless nights can really get to a person. Members of our team cried, they screamed, they remained silent, they did whatever they could to stay awake. But we all did it. However today, we struggled. I struggled doing normal actions, struggled with coherent sentences and staying awake doing anything and everything. I can only imagine how mental illness patients would be affected...
