Our original plan was created by my wife Lisa and I, while watching the unbelievable news footage as the reality of Russian aggression towards an innocent population unfolded. We decided that we would try to raise enough money for us to rent a van fill it with as much Useful Aid as we could gather and I would then drive that aid to the Ukrainian boarder.

No plan survives its first contact with reality, and with your generosity and that of local communities, schools, shops, charities and small businesses our plan was blown to pieces. We received so much support that on that first run, myself, Peter Ackroyd, Phil Waddell, Tim Rawlinson, Tony Lloyd and Malcolm Keeton took 3 Luton vans loaded with supplies to Poland where we delivered it to Kutno and Piatek, two small communities who have selflessly opened their doors to those fleeing genocide in Ukraine.

While we were in Poland we saw those people and we saw their children, we heard their stories and we felt a tiny portion of their pain for just a short while. When we returned home we spoke with the whole team who had made that first run possible, and we agreed that we couldn't walk away. And so we are now upping our target from the original £5000, which was surpassed by the generosity and kindness of those who heard about our plan, and we are going again we have some funds left from our first trip, and we have some aid in our lockup but we will need more of both if we are to continue our support. We have raised the original target to £15000 (as you can see, we have raised £11000+ already), and we aim to match our last run, 3 vans full to bursting with the aid that is needed in Kutno and Piatek right now, and if we surpass this target then we will simply go again and again and again.

The people who receive your generosity are ordinary, hard working people who until a short while ago had the same concerns as you or I, Keep a roof over our heads, feed the family, pay the bills, work hard for the next promotion, ensure the kids have the trainers that they want and the PlayStation game that has just come out. In what must seem the blink of an eye those concerns have been replaced by the horrors of war, the anxiety of separation, and the fear of the unknown.

With your donations we aim to hire 3 more vehicles, pay travel costs and purchase some of the following essential items,

Nappies, Wipes, Creams, Toilet Paper, Sanitary products, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Soap, Shampoo, we will also be collecting donations of serviceable clothing, shoes, cuddly toys and anything else we can fit on the van that may make a persons life a little less unbearable during these unimaginable times.

Any remaining donations on completion of our journey will be applied to the third run.
