We would like to raise enough money to purchase, install and maintain a Public Access Defibrillator in the centre of our village, North Newton. The site is adjacent to a busy pub carpark, our equally busy Village Hall and immediately opposite our Primary School. Heart attacks are a leading cause of premature death, but with immediate treatment many lives can be save. Living in a rural community can mean that emergency service response times can often be lengthy. Having a fully automatic defibrillator on hand, which is designed to be used by an untrained member of the public, could make the difference between life and death.
