On the 12th May I will be joining a team of 26 to take on one of my toughest challenges so far!! We will be taking part in the RAT RACE, its the world's largest assault course of 200 obstacles over 20miles!!!! We are all busy training hard and building up the miles with our running!!! For this challenge I would like to try and raise some money for my son Jac, he has severe hearing loss and wears hearing aids in both ears. His passion is football and plays for Ruthin Rovers. To make it easier for Jac to hear and understand speech from his football trainers within a noisy enviroment, there is a piece of equipment that he could use called an FM System. The system is a transmitter microphone that is used by the speaker and its received directly into jacs hearing aids by an attachment that fits onto the aids. Having this equipment would make a big difference to Jac to hear instructions and commands, we will also be able to use this out and about on days out! The whole system is £1800, we have had a grant of £500 towards it but would love to be able to raise the rest of the funds for Jac so he can enjoy his football matches even more!!!
