My name is Josh Millar and I am 11 years old and love playing rugby for my local club, Lowestoft & Yarmouth RC.

Earlier this year I was diagnosed with a number of heart conditions which meant I had to hang up my boots and retire from the sport I love. I recently underwent numerous tests at Great Ormond Street Hospital and have been diagnosed with Aortic Stenosis, which means I need open heart surgery to replace a valve and may require more similar surgeries in years to come.

I have a wonderful supportive family but if I am honest with myself, the thought of this operation really scares me. I know I’ll never be able to play rugby again but I hope one day to become an international rugby referee.

I need your help to raise funds so that I can purchase a defibrillator, which I can place close to my house but in a public place so it’s available for my family in case of an emergency but also easily accessible for other people to use if they require it.
