Story
Starting tomorrow, the 14th October I am going to use my passion for cycling to support my friend and former team mate Len Johnrose as he battles Motor Neurone Disease and to help raise awareness for MND. For those of you who don't know, myself and Len stood shoulder to shoulder as team mates during the most fantastic 6 years of our careers.
When I first heard about Len's diagnosis I found it hard to believe. How can this happen to my indestructible midfield partner. I find myself in the fortunate position that having had a great career and be healthy enough to find my buzz through cycling. The Trent Valley 100 (http://sportivehq.com/events-overview/sportive-hq-events/trent-valley-100-sportive-2018/) will be the first of many fundraising events myself, my friends and hopefully some of my former team mates will ride to provide much needed funds to support Len, his family and the MND Association (https://www.mndassociation.org).
With your help we can not only help the Johnrose family, but also help raise much needed awareness for MND and help aid funding for research.
Thank you X

5 years agoYesterday myself, Andy Driver, Tony Sutton and George Mankel cycled over 100 miles on MTB's, continuing the much support of the Len Johnrose Trust and the MND Association. Riding from 7am till 6PM this was the most challenging ride due to high winds, freezing rain and below zero temperatures, it was a walk in the park in comparison to Len and the Johnrose family living with MND. So far my extended cycling team have ridden 3 events and 300 miles in completing the Trent Valley 100, Leicester Road Sportive and our Lincoln 100 MTB Challenge.

6 years agoAs promised it's time for another ride. Myself and my good friend Matt Stocks are travelling down to Leicestershire on sunday (18th Nov) to ride the Leicester Road Sportive' We have been overwhelmed by the response to support Len and his trust, raising £1000 in the week after my 1st ride and currently just short of £1500. There have been over a 1000 views of page and 53 incredibly generous people have donated. Please continue to support our quest to help Len, Nadine & the children and raise much needed awareness for MND. Much love Nick x
