Story
Nick Ryan is a highly regarded and popular central defender with Witton Albion Football Club in the EvoStik Premier League.
On Thursday 19th April during Albion’s away league match at Marine Football Club, Nick sustained a triple fracture to the fibula and a single tibia break to his leg. This is a very serious injury and it will be a significant time before Nick is able to play again. Like many footballers at non-league level Nick’s earnings from football are only part of his overall earnings and this injury will impact his ability to work.
To compound matters this is Nick’s second serious injury this season, having missed two months after breaking his jaw whilst away at Sutton Coldfield, 2 days before Christmas!
Nick’s fellow Witton Albion players have already rallied around their teammate and have donated money they have collected over the course of the campaign that was earmarked for a holiday they have planned together following the season.
In addition Witton Albion supporters will raise money to help Nick through his rehabilitation period, with collections at the club’s final 2 home fixtures this season,. Plus the proceeds of a shirt auction at the club’s Player of the Year event will be donated to Nick.
Everyone at Witton Albion would like to thank the support of other non-league clubs that have sent their best wishes to Nick. A number of clubs have already suggested that they would like to organise a pitch collection or help with any fundraising.
This ‘JustGiving’ page has been set-up to collect monies with all donated fundraising going to Nick.
On behalf of everyone at Witton Albion we would like to thank the football family for their support.

Witton Albion Supporter's Development Fund
6 years agoThanks to everyone who has donated so far. After 48 hours of being online this page has achieved £690 / 13% of our target. It's also received over 3,000 views and if everyone who had viewed so far had donated as little as £2 then we would have smashed the target! There has been overwhelming support too from other non league clubs up and down the country and in the local area. Rushall Olympic raised more than £200 at their home match against us, with further match collections planned by 1874 Northwich and others. Thanks for all your help.
