Weʼve raised £1,170 to Help Ladies that are going through Cancer at my local Hospital. This is such a terrible disease that nobody should have to go through.

Story
In December 2016, just before Christmas, my whole world fell apart when i found a lump in my left breast. I had already had breast Cancer in 2001 and had a breast removed, surely this couldn't be happening to me again...could it?
My Doctor was wonderful and phoned straight through to our local Hospital who rang me within 2 hours with an appointment for 4th January but still had to wait all over Christmas and the New Year which was so worrying.
The day came and i had a mammogram, Ultrasound and biopsies and then the waiting game started again only to find that my worse nightmare had come true...I had cancer again.
Poole Hospital and The Lady Bird Unit were so good to me and pointed me in the right direction and i had an operation very quickly. Unfortunately They didn't get it all out so off i went for another operation. I was told it was a Grade 3 and aggressive which means that it is fast growing and i would need Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and 5 years of hormone tablets.
I have come to terms with the fact that i may be ill, have good days and bad and lose my hair.
I ask you all to make sure that you check yourselves regularly as i did and didn't find my tumour until it was 2.5cm. I like you thought 'Oh, it will never happen to me' and it did.
I have since found that they still haven't got all the tumour out and i now have to have a mastectomy.
I would like to ask my friends if they would consider giving to this good cause. As little as £2.00 is helpful. I would love to ideally get to £700, if i don't, i will be donating the rest, if it does i will round it up to the next hundred. My family and my Husband have been great donating, thank you so very much. I would like to give something back to them for saving my life and for all the other local Ladies, God forbid, who knows, one day you may need them too. Thank You. xx

7 years agoThank you all for donating to my page. We have raised £1,150 which i have decided will be given to the radiotherapy Department. I was speaking to the Manageress there the other day and she said that it costs £300 per radiotherapy treatment and we are lucky here in the UK that we do not have to pay for it. I am about to start my treatment which will amount to £4,500, so thank you once again from the bottom of my heart. Whilst i was waiting for my results over and over again, this donation page is what kept me going.

7 years agoI have no had 5 weeks to heal. Still quite painful but finally getting there. I have been 'tattooed' and measured up for the radiotherapy machine. Due to surgery under my arm, at the moment i cannot get my hand and arm up behind my head so they are having to put my arms in cups to support it for the 10 minutes a day. My radiotherapy starts on 1st June every day for three weeks and then when that has settled down i can start thinking about being measured for prothesis and bra.
