    Story

Bertie Our 8 Year old Mini Dachshund slipped his back disc last Thursday he had total cage rest for 3 days but unfortunately took a turn for the worst where this morning his back legs where totally parallelised He was rushed into Fitzpatrick Veterinary Hospital (Super vet ) where they have Estimated £5,000 to £6,000 for immediate Spinal Surgery with a 50/50 chance of recovery
As any dog owner knows if there is a chance to save your dog whether you have the funds or not you're going to give it the best chance you can to live what ever the chances might be. So with Christmas coming I was hoping to pull on a few Heart strings especially dog Lovers who would like to donate to a genuine Charity at home first. If you could dig deep during this festive season & give to my Just giving Bertie page words & the amount of tears that have been shed couldn't thank you enough to help cover Bertie's Vet Bill & enable him to come home for Christmas to His life long Buddy in the Photo Kizzy our Weimaraner who is also missing him Terribly

Very sad News Bertie didn't make it through his recovery after the successful operation on his back by Fitzpatrick's the spinal cord had been to badly damaged & unfortunately they couldn't stop the deterioration of the nerves. So he was put to sleep so very peacefully in our arms We'd like to thank so many people who have given & any that might still support our page to help clear some of the £4,700 bill which isn't covered by our Insurance . If your Daxie ever shows any signs of back trouble time is of the essence act within 48 hours

One week today & I sit here just sobbing thinking how did we get to be in this situation if only we'd brought him straight To Fitzpatrick's we wouldn't be watching a ticking time bomb If he is going to make it or Not !

We took Kizzy to see Bertie today to try & give him a boost things aren't looking good just so heart breaking to see the operation so successful but the danger of the Spinal cord being too damaged to recover due to him not getting referred on the first day it happend every hour minute second is vital to get the operation done as soon as possible never delay & listen to your local vet take them start to the specialist for their expert opinion if we had we wouldn't be in the critical situation We alswe are in now . Thanks everyone for caring x
