Everyday street dogs in Sarajevo face hunger, brutality and death. Through no fault of their own these loving, innocent, vulnerable dogs find themselves having to struggle to find food, survive without shelter in extreme weather conditions and navigate through a city in which many people treat them with hostility and contempt.

However one rescue Saving Suffering Strays - Sarajevo strives to help these poor dogs. In a city that routinely sees these dogs shot, poisoned and bludgeoned this rescue is a beacon of hope and the only chance at life these dogs have.

These dogs need someone to give them the opportunity they never had before. The chance to be part of a loving forever home in which they only know safety and comfort. The families lucky enough to adopt one of these dogs will gain so much, they are loving, gentle and forgiving and enrich the lives of everyone they come into contact with.

In order to give these dogs their deserved forever homes SSSS will be transporting dogs to the UK, some will be going to foster and some to rescue. There are 247 dogs in Melina's care in Bosnia and as you can imagine with that amount of dogs this rescue needs all the help it can get.

I want to raise £500 towards the cost of transport so that we can ensure that some of these dogs can make their way to their new lives. If SSSS pay for the costs of transport that is a huge amount of money out of their budget that they need for the dogs remaining in their care.

The wonderful Barn Rescue Newtownards has agreed to take Caesar (the pictured dog) and Bailey to give them their chance at life.
