This appeal is for my friend Alison Rolfe, she has two children Liam and Chelsea and is married to Darren.
When Alison Rolfe finally got an accurate diagnosis of small bowel cancer in October last year it devastated the whole family. Alison had had chronic symptoms for several years and was given several misdiagnosis including miodisplasia, irritable bowel, coeliacs disease to name but a few!
Since diagnosis she has undergone chemo therapy, this has been really tough, she then had 2 major operations where the prognosis was not good. Alison was given the all clear after operation number 2 but this did not last long...just four days of relief...only to be told it was back again, wether it had returned or never gone away is inconclusive!
Alison is now due to start another course of different Chemo therapy at Christies, but this holds no guarantees.
After exploring treatments abroad Alison has found a clinic in Germany that offers advance therapies not currently available in the UK. Alison is hoping this alternative treatment will be the cure she is looking for...
The first stage is to get Alison and her husband to Germany for assessment, she needs fund of £50,000 for the assessment, travel and to start treatment.
