I am raising money for Street child (an international developmental charity) that aims to ensure every child has accessibility to quality education in developing countries. Street Child is currently helping children in areas of post conflict Sri Lanka by launching a teacher training programme in one of the more disadvantaged regions. The teacher training project is being developed in Batticaloa West in Sri Lanka and aspires to improve the teaching quality across 67 schools. I will be spending several weeks (one and a half month) with the charity during the summer in August i will visit Sri lanka as a volunteer to assist with the programme interact with adults and children from a disadvantaged background whilst conducting research for my dissertation for university in my final year. I’ll also be taking part personally by helping the disadvantaged with food and shelter So every penny you donate will mean alot to them and this whole cause. Food will be given out in packages to families which include :- flour, rice, milk, milkpowders, fresh vegetables, etc waterwells to ensure they have access to clean water. One package will be distrubuted to every family in the disadvantaged area batticola, anuradapuram and mulaitheevu district one pack costs 20£ and i would like to help more than 200 families. I have one month left to raise as much as possible. Please help me reach the fundraising target of £300. If this works i will increase the fundraising target futher to 500.
