Weʼre raising £300 to help impoverished children in Dhaka, Bangladesh receive an education and break free of the poverty-cycle.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
We are Rina Roberts-Whyte and Iona McCulloch and we are part of a charity group called J8 run by a small group of students in Glasgow Gaelic School. We are raising money to grant scholarships and support schools in Dhaka, Bangladesh in order to help impoverished children get above the poverty line and have a chance at a better life. Most teenagers in Scotland these days are practically addicted to their mobile phones, a luxury most in the world do not have. So, to raise money for J8, we have decided to give up our mobile phones completely for the whole month of July. We hope that after 31 full days without our phones, in the summer holidays, wwe will gain a better appreciation for what we have and hopefully raise a lot of money.
Thank you for taking the time to read our page!
