Our organisation was established in the summer of 2020, in the wake of several peaceful protests that were held following the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Elijah McClain at the hands of police officers. Shockwaves were felt in communities across the world and groups serving Black people had to manage very public grief.

Our solution to all of the pain felt and expressed was was to attempt to pull people with shared experiences together.

We work to draw together the various community associations, groups and individuals servicing the needs of the African, Caribbean and Mixed Race and other Black communities of North Hertfordshire.

We have links with community partners and stakeholders to support Black communities to share our culture and heritage with the wider community. We aim to support making our community a better place to live by encouraging understanding, celebration and togetherness.

We provide support to the community through information advice and guidance, events organising, fundraising, cultural celebrations, history lessons, mentoring, personal development and community action.

We aim to draw people together into a cohesive working group to enable stronger representation of our culture within the wider North Hertfordshire community. The groups were all founded or have members who are predominantly from African, Caribbean and Mixed Race and other Black backgrounds and who call North Hertfordshire home.

We aim to fundraising to establish the group and to support the local authority to remove inequalities faced in access to health, employment, education and business sectors.
We hope to improve the quality of life, for the wider community of North Hertfordshire, as a whole.
