Saturday, 9th of June Richard Hannay and Matt Murdoch set off from the Grand Lodge on Queen Street and headed West through the busy London streets out through Kensington, Hammersmith and Chiswick, eventually arriving at the Weir Pub at Brentford Lock at 1:30pm. After a light lunch and brief rest, we headed through Hounslow and skirted the South perimeter of Heathrow Airport before making a brief rest stop at a very English pub near Stanwell. The final stages of the walk toward Windsor out through the reservoirs and across the M-25 were the most pleasant part of the walk. However, we must admit that fatigue kicked and and we were very relieved to see the Queen’s flag flying over the castle in the distance. It was great to get some liquid refreshments in the pub next to Windsor Castle before hobbling towards the train station back to London.
