    The Foundation is an independent private Nigerian philanthropic organisation committed to improving the quality of life for the disadvantaged Nigerian youths, by creating intervention schemes and supporting interventions implemented by other government and private organizations, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Community Based Organisations (CBOs), faith-based organisations, youth organisations, women’s groups and similar groups working in Nigeria.

    Established by Chief Dr. Uzoma Obiyo as a tribute to his mother, the foundation aims to promote and continue the life-long of an inspiring role model, a woman of charity and care and a great Amazon Late Dame Emily Ahunna Obiyo, a treasured mother of blessed memory.

    The Obiyo foundation will be involved with youth affairs, and the rehabilitation of youths affected by drug abuse to get assistance with furthering their education. Nigeria is currently ranked top 10 in the world on the global ranking of countries affected by drug abuse.

    Mission

    To create a platform and safe environment to empower youths giving them access to education and mentorship creating a progressive safe haven for educational development.

    Vision

    A Nigeria where all young people have access to affordable quality health care, education and equal opportunities to realize their potential for further growth of the economy and country.

    Main Goals

    Improve the quality of education of children and young people (18 years and younger); targeting those affected by the codeine epidemic directly and indirectly.

    The Obiyo foundation aims to assist the bright minded youths of Nigeria who do not have the means to exercise their intellect due to the horrible situation in their community. The growing epidemic which came to global attention by the documentary produced by the BBC and to the attention of the Federal Government (FG) which resulted in the banning of the distribution of the drug by NAFDAC

      After visiting orphaned and neglected children due to drug abuse in Nigeria it prompted me to raise awareness, Nigeria is currently ranked 4th on deaths related to drugs. Prescription drugs have a grave effect and the effects are not well published and citizens advised.
