I am fundraising to be able to go on a 4 week volunteering expedition to Zambia and Botswana in July 2018 with my school, Roundwood Park and the World Challenge organisation. During my time in Africa, I am hoping to learn a lot and am sure I will be experiencing many things and situations. Whilst we are there, we will participate in a community housing project building accommodation for families and vulnerable children in need of help and support. Among the activities we are planning, we hope to visit the conservation project at Kharma Rhino Sanctuary in Botswana and assist where we can in local schools. As well as me learning new skills, I hope our assistance will have a huge effect on the local community’s lives and we hope to leave them in a better environment. We will be experiencing a new way of life in countries that aren’t as privileged ours. As a result, I hope to come back a better person and feeling as though I have in some way helped the residents of both Zambia and Botswana and made a positive impact on the world.
