One in six gaming

One in six gaming is a support group to help those who are, or who have, experienced mental health issues. We use gaming as a way of helping people to "escape" for a few hours and be with like minded people, but also have a safe environment where they can talk and open up if needed. We play wargames, board games and card games.

The group is a great place for people to come along and share any issues they are facing and realise that it's ok to talk. Mental health has played a big part in my life, and I want to break the stigma of mental health and show people it's ok to talk.

Unfortunately we have experienced issues in the past where teenagers have thought it was funny to come into the session and make fun of the members and also break and steal models that have had a lot of time and effort put into them. We have recently moved venue, which we have to pay for each time we use it. We have more and more people wanting to join each week.

That's why I'm raising money to help cover the costs for each session but also buy new tables and boards for the group to play their games on, as the venue have non of their own. Money will also be used to help new members start their own collection of models to help them take their mind off things. Any donation would go straight to the support group.
