WHO?

Osman lives in Balukhali. It is one of the largest refugee camps in the world. He is an orphan. His parents were killed on August 30th, 2017 by the Myanmar army.

What?

This is an appeal to raise money for Osman's education. Osman is 10 or 11 years old. He cannot read or write. He has been encouraged to go to school but it is clear he requires individual tuition.

Why?

The camps of Bangladesh can be very exploitative and dangerous. We want to give Osman a basic education - so that as he grows he can face the world from a stronger position.

The images of Osman you see on this page were taken three days after he witnessed the killing of his parents. The trauma of it is etched on his face. For several months afterwards, Osman wore the same t-shirt and lungi because he had no other clothes. As a child and as an orphan, life continues to be difficult for Osman. If we stand by Osman and support him through his guardian, we will be giving him an opportunity he may not have otherwise.
