    Story

    Christmas Lights Appeal

We hope that everyone has once again enjoyed the Christmas lights this year, thank you to all those that have taken the time to let us know how much they are appreciated, and we certainly share the view that they are a fantastic asset to our community! With this year’s lights only just packed away we have to turn our attentions to next year’s lights … Having made some small extensions this year next year it would be great to be able to make some further, more complex extensions (requiring additional supporting poles etc), plus after years of loyal service some pieces of our existing equipment (including poles, cables, bulbs) would really benefit from some maintenance/replacement – and so having not fundraised last year we have set ourselves an ambitious fundraising target for this year of £1,000.

Knowing how busy everyone’s social calendars are, in the first instance we would like to see how close we can get to our target by simply asking for voluntary personal donations towards the lights upkeep please. Any value, no matter how small, will both help and be gratefully received.

With much to plan/review, we would ask please that any donations are made by the end of February (2017).

We greatly appreciate the generosity of everyone historically to make the lights what they are today, and we would like to stress that whilst it would be lovely to hit our target, whatever value we are able to achieve the lights will be up and shining in Christmas 2017, we’ll just cut-our-cloth accordingly.

Thank you from the Christmas lights team
