Story
In summer 2019, a Unit of 36 young people and 4 adult leaders will travel to West Virginia, USA, to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree. They will join 45,000 other Scouts from almost 150 different countries, take part in adventurous activities, and participate in an educational programme promoting international peace, cooperation, tolerance and friendship.
The experiences these young people will have will stay with them for the rest of their lives; they will be able to grow in confidence, independence and understanding, and learn more about the world around them. They will make new friends from around the globe, and explore new cultures and religions in a fun and active way.
Oxfordshire Scouts is committed to ensuring that no young person is denied this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity based on financial circumstances. As such, the Unit has committed to fundraising the entire cost of the Jamboree and associated training events; a total of £160,000. Any amount you can spare, no matter how small, will help us to achieve this huge target. Thank you in advance for your support.
