Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
In a few weeks Sarah & I will be going to Calais to volunteer at the Warehouse for refugees. Although due to work commitments we can only go for the weekend, we want to make a long term difference by taking out supplies and donations for the people living in the camps.
It is much easier to help than you may think. Just £20 (giving up your daily coffee for just one week) could buy a blanket & toiletries to help someone warm & clean during the winter months. You can choose whether to spend £20 or £200 to provide the most vulnerable with warmth, shelter & food – the bare necessities a human being deserves to have.
In the run up to leaving we will be collecting donations of supplies. If you don't have the time to go & buy these supplies yourself or don't know where to start - please make a donation! This is the easiest way to help. Donations to our crowd-funding page will raise money so we can go out and buy the items most needed.
No matter how big or small, your donation will provide something which can help. Just think, that 50p coin down the back of your sofa could buy a bottle of shampoo for someone who hasn't been able to wash their hair in 3 weeks… every little really DOES help!
However, there are other ways to help - donating unwanted belongings such as clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, tents & even food is also a really easy way to help. Send me an email at pollyrheine@gmail.com & I can arrange to come & pick them up from you or we can arrange local collection points.
We will take over your donations to the Help Refugees warehouse in Calais where we will help distribute them to the camps.
If you would like to help please give what you can, whether it be a blanket, a £5 donation or buying 20 jumpers from a charity store – the help you provide is invaluable.
Thank you in advance for your help. We will keep you posted on our trip & seeing how all your kind donations are being used by the amazing charities helping these helpless refugees.
