Hi. My name is Param Tanna. I am 14 years old and I am a Scout at 1st Bushey Heath. Recently I was chosen to represent the UK at the 24th World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia!

It all started on a selection weekend which involved various physical and mental activities to assess our problem-solving, teamwork and leadership skills. On the 31st October 2017 I got great news; I was offered a place at the 24th World Scout Jamboree! It will take place July 22 - August 2, 2019 and be one of the greatest experiences of my life! The Jamboree will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico at The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve, West Virginia.

I soon found out that I was going to be part of Unit 15 - the Psychedelic Squirrels - which consists of 36 other Scouts and Explorers from Hertfordshire.

The WSJ is a fortnight adventure which brings together 45,000 Scouts and Explorers from all around the world! The Jamboree is a "once in a lifetime" opportunity which will help promote peace and mutual understanding to develop leadership and life skills.

Along the way, I will face many challenges, one of them being *fundraising*. For the next 18 months I have to raise a whopping £1256.00! I have never fundraised this much money but it is doable.

It would mean the world if you could help me out and donate some money - Every Little Helps :). Throughout the next 18 months I will compete in sponsored events and sell various items at car boot sales!
