    Story

This is an appeal to raise funds for Steve White, a St Helens local legend who has unfortunately been diagnosed with brain cancer. Steve is only 44 years of age, married with 2 sons, 6 and 14 years of age.
Ironically, Steve is a proud trustee for the Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF) and over the years has been responsible for raising thousands of pounds for 'PRECKY's' battle with abdominal cancer. Unfortunately, Steve PRESCOTT MBE, an ex St Helens Rugby League player passed away in 2013. WHITEY however, remains an integral part of the SPF, raising awareness for cancer research.
On 23rd July 2016, Steve and his wife Katheryn’s lives were changed forever. Whilst celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary in Belfast, Steve suffered three seizure’s in short succession, leading to the collapse of both lungs. Steve spent 1 week in an intensive care unit in Belfast in a medically induced coma and was diagnosed with a grade 4 Gliobastoma (GBM), the most aggressive form of brain cancer. It was identified that Steve in fact had a mass on the left side of the temporal lobe. Initially, Steve's life expectancy was indicated to be between 6 and 18 months.
Due to Steve's knowledge of cancer research, in addition to conventional treatments (chemotherapy etc.), he has been given the opportunity to pursue an alternative treatment path that may save or prolong his life. This treatment is expensive and cannot be offered in the UK. THIS IS WHY WE NEED YOUR DONATIONS! The whole town of St Helens has rallied towards Steve's cause and donations from local businesses etc. have been overwhelming. Which brings me to my small part! On 16th June, myself and 14 other 'victims' are cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats, 900 miles in 10 days, to raise funds for WHITEY's battle. WE NEED YOUR MONEY!
WHITEY is a legend and is currently living each day as it comes adhering to his close friend Steve Prescott’s motto ‘What the mind believes, the body achieves’. Thanks for reading x

I'd like to thank everyone who has donated so far (including offline donations) in excess of £1800 but every penny counts!! Dig deep and keep donating please xx
