Story
I’ve been invited to join a group consisting of members and friends of NIPSA Branch 733, who are embarking on their second journey to Malawi in South East Africa in October to work with schemes that will support self-sustainable projects.
To date the group have funded the building of a school, provided fresh water for 34 children in an orphanage and the surrounding community, funded a feeding programme for a group of families affected by aids totalling 450 persons and provided a small landscape area in an orphanage for the children to relax and enjoy.
All of this is being achieved in conjunction with Tilinanu Orphanage, which is a fully registered charity in Malawi and is 100% non-profit. The orphanage opened in August 2009 providing a safe haven for 34 girls. It is the intention of the group to raise a total of £50K to help fund other projects in Malawi, including the building and furnishing of a vocational teaching centre. The group also intend funding the purchasing of land to teach how to grow crops and leave communities self-sustainable, as well much more.
Each person has to raise their own personal donation of £2000 to cover the costs of travel/food/accommodation/visas, etc. and also as much as possible over this towards the overall total to help with the projects. There are plans for a variety of fundraising events and I wish to ask for YOUR support to help reach our target and to continue to make a difference.
Together the volunteers have already made a difference to the lives of many in communities in Malawi and I’m looking forward to now joining them in this, with your help.
Thank you for anything you can give towards this.

7 years agoOnce again, a big thank you to everyone for the generous support you have given - none of what we have achieved to date and will achieve in the future would be possible without you all! There's just less than a week to go on this page, so any further donations will be gratefully received to help us fund further projects. To everyone who has donated, whether it was money or clothes/items etc, THANK YOU!!!!!

7 years agoThank you for all the donations so far, I really appreciate it! The Adult Vocational Centre has now been built, but we still need to furnish it and there is a shipment of solar panels on it's way to the orphanage as we speak. All of this and more, has been possible with your help and we can still do so much more, so please keep sharing this post with others and help me reach my own personal target and contribute to the overall effort. We are making a huge difference to the lives of many in Malawi and will continue to do so with your support!
