    Story

On 24th June 2018 I will running the Humber bridge half marathon.
On the 28th February 2017 I suffered a stroke whilst at work. Thankfully for the  quick thinking and training from my colleagues I was taken to Hull royal infirmary Hospital. Doctor's discovered I had a rip in my archery in the neck and a blood clot had formed in my brain. I went under a 3 hour operation to clear the clot. From the stroke it left me with brain damage and paralysed down my right side of my body I was unable to walk or move my right arm. From the physio I received I managed to walk again after month.

I still have little feeling in my right arm and weakness in my right leg but I have decided I want to help other people who have suffered strokes. A local stroke group meet twice a week to support survivors and families who are dealing with the after effects of a stroke which can be painful and distressful for both the survivor and carer.

I didn't run before my stroke so it's a new challenge for me.

Thank you for the support .

I just want to say a great thanks to Wayne Leighton who dragged me around the Humber bridge half marathon. And to all my family and friends from the stroke club who came to support me today. Also forever one who sponsored me. It's a great cause and help people that their is life after stroke.
