The support of CHSW has proved to be invaluable, not just to Jason, Rachel and their son but also to Hope and to the couple’s second daughter Betsy – a surprise addition to their family who arrived when the twins were three years old.

Little Harbour helped Hope and her parents to explain to the little girl’s school what it's like to be a sibling of a child with life-limiting condition, and has supported them as they consider the future and plan for all the ‘what ifs’ that may come their way.

Children's Hospice South West has helped them to create many special times and experiences that they and their children will be always be able to cherish – from surfing with the two girls and a train journey for the twins’ sixth birthday to simple moments of quiet reflection.

Rachel says the time they spend at Little Harbour is time that allows them to just be a family – a “mummy and daddy to all three of our children with no schedule, no equipment and occasional time alone as a couple”.

“They are an integral part of our family life and we look forward to each and every visit,” she added.

“For me, I know that there is someone always at the end of the telephone with a sympathetic, understanding ear. I can’t thank them enough.”
